Bindis started becoming popular a few years ago. Originally they are worn by Indian women as a symbol of Hinduism and the third eye chakra. If the Bindi is red- generally that means that the woman is married. Although now colors are popular so its hard to tell what is what unless the woman is wearing a Mangal Sutra (marriage necklace).
Tikkas are a traditional form of Indian jewelry that is worn from the part of the hair- to the center of the forehead- much like a hanging bindi. They look beautiful alone or with veils, head scarves, or other head coverings. Our tikkas have hooks on the end so that they can be attached to hair and then secured with bobby pins.
